WHAT IS PALET FLOW STORAGE?

Pallet Flow shelves consist of a rigging system (racking) placed close together (no access to forklifts). Typically, pallet flow shelves have 4-5 floors. Each floor, one will place an additional free roller conveyor system with an appropriate inclination angle.

The working principle of Pallet Plow is that pallet pallets will drift from high to low ends. Forklifts when loading or unloading just stand outside the system, not running into the shelf area.

On each conveyor roller, there is an additional sliding brake to ensure that the pallet (weighing up to several tons) will slide at a fixed speed.

OPERATION PRINCIPLE

We can operate under two options: LIFO or FIFO

LAST IN – FIRST OUT (LIFO)

The principle of this operation is that the goods that are put in later will be removed first.

Under this option, when loading and unloading from the shelf, the operator operates at the low end.

When loading, the forklift driver will operate at the lower end, pushing the pallets upside down to put new pallets on.

When unloading, the driver takes the pallet at the low end, pulls out. The remaining pallets will drift down to the low end.

FIRST IN – FIRST OUT (FIFO)

The principle of this operation is that the goods that are put in first will be removed first.

Under this option, when loading the goods onto the shelf, the operator operates at the higher end. Pallet of goods will drift to low side.

When unloading, the driver takes the pallet at the low end, pulls out. The remaining pallets will drift down to the low end.

Warehouse inputs and outputs can, depending on each specific case, be combined using automatic conveyor systems or crane cranes to reduce forklift operation.

Usually, people will organize this plan.

ADVANTAGES AND WEAKNESS OF PALLET FLOW STORAGE

Pallet flow storage is a very modern, high-class plan, applied by many large factories around the world. Unlike other forms of automated warehouses such as AS-RS or Shuttle Rack, the pallet flow warehouse is operated by mechanical, so the warranty and maintenance are very light.

This type of shelf is often applied in warehouses of manufacturers of food, seafood, beer, soft drinks, cold storage, freezers, motorcycles, bicycles …

Advantages

• This option saves 60% of the usable area compared to conventional shelves.

Weaknesses

• High price, a great investment.
• Not applicable for bulky goods (must be loaded on pallets).
• Not applicable for warehouses containing many different types of goods.
• It requires skilled forklift drivers to be better than the conventional shelves.

MANUFACTURING AND INSTALLATION

Truss frame system is run on specialized rolling machines, powder coated or galvanized as required. Rack made in Vietnam.

Free roller conveyor rigs are imported from Thailand by Hai Tan. Roller conveyor system is designed as a standard module, each module holds 1 pallet and has 1 reduction roller.

The regular installation takes place fairly quickly. After fully gathering the materials, the installation team of Hai Tan will perform rolling jobs. Hai Tan can organize construction and work shifts that the plant is not in operation.
